Although ACCA considers recognition for legal tax purposes[2], it does not have an agreement with an accounting office in South Africa, while ICAEW, ICAS and CA Ireland have agreements with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. ACCA arrived in China in the late 1980s and has significantly expanded its Chinese base in recent years. Initially signed in 2006, the contract was renewed in July 2011. In 2012, CGA Canada was part of CPA Canada. The MRA remains in effect in all provinces except Quebec.
