Acca Mutual Agreements

We will continue to keep all members informed of the status of our reciprocity agreements. Although ACCA considers recognition for legal tax purposes[2], it does not have an agreement with an accounting office in South Africa, while ICAEW, ICAS and CA Ireland have agreements with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. ACCA arrived in China in the late 1980s and has significantly expanded its Chinese base in recent years. It has agreements with 41 Chinese universities, many of which are leaders in the financial and accounting disciplines and have an excellent academic reputation in a wider range of subjects. Among the most well-known institutions are Tsinghua University, Xiamen, the Central University of Finance and Economics, the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Xi`an Jiaotong University and Sun Yat-Sen University. Initially signed in 2006, the contract was renewed in July 2011. In 2012, CGA Canada was part of CPA Canada. The MRA remains in effect in all provinces except Quebec.
